    Martin Harrison

The 2014 Toys 4 Tots took place in Flowood, Mississippi this past weekend. This was not only a race but a great time of the year to give to the less fortunate kids. The schedule for this event was Friday practice, Saturday 3 rounds of rocket round qualifying with single a-mains. Tekin’s Martin Harrison would dominate the electric classes, as he piloted his TLR lineup to a win in Pro-4, E-Truggy, AND E-Buggy. An impressive set of wins for Harrison, all for a good cause.

    Tebo Maifield

This past weekend hosted the JConcepts Indoor National Series Finals at HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex in Omaha, Nebraska. The event packed the house with competition including that of reigning INS champion and series ‘regulars’ Ryan Maifield, AE’s Spencer Rivkin, Steven Hartson, and many more. The finale of the 2014 series would belong to Kyosho/AKA driver Jared Tebo. Tebo brought home the win in both 2wd Mod Buggy and 4wd Mod Buggy after some close racing with long-time friend/rival Ryan Maifield and others. While Tebo would win the battle in Omaha, Maifield has won the war by clinching the JConcepts Indoor National Series title in 2wd SC, 2wd Mod Buggy, and 4wd Mod Buggy. Read more…

The Lutzinator takes 3 at the ‘Fall Brawl’

    December 9, 2014 - 17:42 by Mike Garrison 0 Comments

    Lutz Fall Brawl

Ryan Lutz seems to be settling in quite well at his new Tekno home, as he has once again returned from another successful race weekend. Lutz recently joined many of the east coast’s best drivers to attend The Badlands R/C Supercross ‘Fall Brawl’ event in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Despite the local hot shots and various other top pros (such as Adam Drake), Lutz brought home the win in 1/8 Nitro Truggy, 1/8 E-Buggy, Pro-4 SCT, and narrowly missed the win in 1/8 Nitro Buggy after a flame out leading the race.

    December 4, 2014 - 20:14 by Mike Garrison 0 Comments

    MoGrip Header

When it comes to offroad racing, one of the more controversial racing tactics is the use of traction additives. Many believe it makes no significant difference, others say it is the key to winning races, while some believe it is cheating and should be outlawed. Despite the controversy among the use of traction additives in offroad R/C racing, the production of such substances has never been bigger. New companies, blends, and brands have surfaced one after another in recent years. Some are simply home cooked trial and error recipes, while others are extensively tested and scientifically engineered chemical potions. One of the newer potions on the American west coast is known as ‘MoGrip’. The ‘Mo Grip’ tire traction additive is the number one choice of racers at tracks such as AMain.com’s Outback Raceway. While not exactly on the west coast, we were fortunate enough to get our hands on our own bottle of MoGrip to see what all of the scuttle is about. Read more…
