1/8th on-road driver John Ermen has left behind RB Products and signed for REDS Racing for the 2014 race season. John had the following to say:
“Thanks to Marco & Mario Rossi, We did some tests and I’m impressed with the performance and speed of the engines. In 2014 I will race the Dutch Nationals, German Nationals, ENS series and the European Championships. Let’s get the race season going and hope for some good results.”
Pictured above is Speed Passion’s new Reventon Pro 1.1 EX which measures 35x35x20mm and features a low-profile fan. Designed for use with 1S and 2S LiPo batteries the Reventon Pro 1.1 EX is 140A rated and includes a 6V/3A BEC system and a built-in on/off switch.
World Champion and multiple US National Champion Mike Swauger has announced that he will continue to be a part of the Xray team for the 2014 season and will be racing all major events with their NT1 & RX8.
Mike had the following to say:
“I would like to thank Ralph Burch and everyone at RC America and XRAY for the past two years of racing. I’m excited to have signed with team again for the 2014 season and looking forward to having a great year of racing with the XRAY Team. See you at the next race!”
Round 5 of the BRCA 1/12 nationals took place recently, and for the first time a BRCA national event was held in a large shopping mall. The centre:mk played host to what many are already dubbing as ‘the best 1/12 national for more than 20 years’. Crowds 2 or 3 deep surrounded the 28m x 14m carpet track for the entire weekend, and there were also other exhibits and attractions on offer to engage the public with RC racing. This weekend (28 Feb-2 March) the Yokomo Euro Touring Series heads to Gran Canaria where a freshly resurfaced track awaits competitors travelling to the Spanish holiday island for the third round of the championship. The third year for the ETS to visit the Circuito Automodelismo El Hornillo track, the event marks the welcomed switch from a winter of indoor carpet racing to outdoor asphalt and previous encounters have turned up unexpected race winners. The new RTR rally car is perfect for bashing and features a strong, durable and redesigned chassis, RGT Hobby even go on to state that the kit itself can survive jumping at heights of two meters however we’re left a little unconvinced.
