The fifth and final round of Swiss IC Track championship was held in Herblingen. If in the 1/8 class Simon Kurzbuch (Shepherd) had already secured his title at fourth round, in the 1/10 Nitro Touring class the battle for the title was really tight between three drivers. In the 1/10 Nitro Touring class Raphael Wicki took the overall TQ while Thilo Tödtmann grabed the Superpole. After a few changes on his setup, Patrick Fankhauser (XRAY) was able to win his semifinal with 2 laps ahead. He had to finish in the Top 3 and 2 places ahead of R.Wicki to win the Championship. For the 30 minutes A-Main P.Fankhauser decided to drive a high-pace strategy with a full tyre-change at mid-race. After a very good start he was already on P2 behind T.Tödtmann. He was pulling away from the rest of the field until he had an issue with his transmitter, which cost him the win. After the tyre-change P.Fankhauser was in P6 while R.Wicki in P3. With fresh tyres he was able to push and close the gap to the drivers in P3-5. At the 25 minute mark he was fourth behind R.Wicki who didn’t change the tyres. P.Fankhauser was able to overtake him and keep the third spot whilst Niclas Scherrer also passed R.Wicki. Eventually Marco Rizzo took the win from S.Kurzbuch in second and thanks to the third place P.Fankhauser secured the championship title in front of Raphael Wicki, Marco Rizzo and Traugott Schär.
