Last weekend was held the first round of the West German on-road regionals at the fast and demanding AMC-Hamm e.V. track. The 1/10 nitro final saw a nice battle for positions, different leaders and also some drama. Starting in damp conditions the track dried up very quickly. Since off the line the track was still very slippery, there wasn’t much room for errors. In the end Rene Püpke came out fastest. Second position has been earned by Bernd Rausch who stayed out of trouble driving a steady race. The final podium spot has been earned by Shepherd newcomer Majoran Tharmalingam. Driving his first race with a borrowed car he made most out of it, by taking the final podium spot after suffering some small crashes with backmarkers.
In the 1/8 nitro class David Kröger showed his whole talent of not only being a fast driver, but also keeping in control when needed most. With his father Thomas Kröger as a pitman and mechanic David drove an intelligent race not risking to much, bringing home the win in front of Bert Poeser in second and Gunnar Blumedahl in third.
