Round three of the Essex Winter Series was held in UK this past weekend. In TC Modified, XRAY’s Olly Jefferies, after two rounds of qualifying with some problems, bounced back with TQ in round three but lost out on overall TQ after Schumacher’s Elliott Harper took the fourth and final round by a very narrow margin. From second place on the grid Jefferies piled the pressure on Harper right from the off not giving Elliott any breathing space, at around the two-minute mark Elliott made a small error coming on to the straight clipping the kerb and having to back off the throttle and that was enough see Jefferies blast past, despite a hard charge in the later stages of the race from Harper, Jefferies controlled the gap and held and took the win. Harper and Team Associated’s Chris Grainger rounded out the top 3.
In stock it was XRAY’s Zak Finlay once again dominating and leading from the front, Zak took all four rounds of stock qualifying ahead of Tony Broad, in all four rounds the pair were only separated by less than a second at the end of the run in favour of Zak. In the final Broad kept Finlay honest but it was a familiar story at the end with Zak crossing the line ahead of the pack to take the win from Broad in second and Schrumacher driver Chris Ashton in third.
