Last round of the Danish Electric On-road Championship was held in Odense rc, on the nice flowing track. This round should be a battle between XRAY’s Mike Gosvig and his team mate Kevin Nielsen to know who would take the Danish national title this outdoor season. Both had the same points before the race, so the one who was in front of each other would win the title.
In the first qualification round Mike could TQ with 5 seconds down to second place, and Kevin Nielsen was in 3rd. In the second qualification round Mike tried some different setup, but the car lost a lot of pace compared to Søren boy Holst. Mike finished in second place with Kevin in 3rd and Jesper Rasmussen in 4th. In the last qualification Søren took again the TQ while Mike pulled in to safe the tyres. Kevin got 2nd in this round.
In the first final Mike could stay in front of Kevin in the main, under his pressure but he will not manage pass Mike. Søren won this main, with Mike in second and Kevin in third.
For the second main Mike was faster and he could get closer to Søren, but when they should go and lap to a backmarker they lost some time, so Søren got a bigger lead and won the main. Mike’s car had a engine failure and stopped, allowing Kevin to take the second place.
Now the pressure was even more on for Mike, he had to stay in 2nd place or better to defend his title.
The main started and after some laps Søren rolled the car on a curb, so Mike took the lead with Kevin right behind! He tried anything to pass Mike, but Mike closed every door, and tried to pull away. At the end Mike could cross the line and win the main, some few tenth in front of Kevin!
With this title, Mike got his 23th Nationals title!
