Race 4 out of 5 of the Island Nitro Series ended last weekend with an even closer points standing. This will make race 5 the most competitive race for the season as this is where the champions will be defined.
Howard Maitland Top Qualifier, had some tuning issues at the start of the day but was still able to work it out and navigate his Serpent 1/8 Nitro GT car to the pole position.
Franklin Thomas held on to the first position with his Capricorn 1/10 Nitro car for the Sedan class. While there were serious challenges thoughout the race even exchanging positions, Thomas kept his consistency from the start of the raceday being the Top Qualifier and first position.
1/8 Nitro Open AWD ended on a very interesting note as the there was light drizzle (rain) to the end of the race. Mike Clarke with his Xray put down some good driving skills which advanced him to first position. Clarke who is also the Top Qualifier now has the most points going into race 5 in this class.
Thanks to Franklin Thomas for the report.
