Kingston, Jamaica hosted the seventh running of the Jamrock Nationals, one of Jamrock Radio Control Car Club’s most prestigious events. Jamrock Nationals VII (2017) event had an unprecedented staging with the first ever night race of the event. Friday night was an electric night featuring three Electric Classes. This was an awesome race night for all including spectators as they were treated to racing entertainment and fun under the beautiful city lights of Kingston. This year’s electric class champions are Gary Sailsma in 1/10 Electric FWD Mini, Denise Clarke in Electric Touring (Xray) and Andre Blaine in 1/10 Electric GT (TC6.1).
Sunday was all out business as racers wasted no time showing each other what was about to go down on the track. The event kicked off on-time as planned and ran smoothly throughout the day. There were a few mechanical issues with some cars but consistency was the big winner of the day. The Nitro class champions are Howard Maitland in 1/8 Nitro GT (Serpent) , Franklin Thomas in Nitro Touring (Capricorn) and Raffique Golaub in 1/8 Nitro Open (Serpent 977).
Thanks to Franklin Thomas for the report.
