Last weekend was the first round of the Luxemburgish nationals. It was held at the center Turelbach at Mertzig from the club RCCM. The track was quite small like always (small country = small track 😉 ), but the grip was quite high after some practice rounds.
My car worked quite good on Saturday after small setup changes. I switched the oil in my diff from 5’000 to 7’000, this made the car quicker in the fast chicane. I also used the aluminium chassis witch let the car roll better in the corners. We drove on Volante tyres and same carpet like ETS. I drove with a 10.5 T in blinky mode because of the small track and to check how the car works for the upcoming weekend in Longwy.
On Sunday were 3 qualy heats and 3 final heats. in the first qualy heat I managed to drive the first TQ run in 42 5.05 min. For the second qualy I got only the 3rd fastest run 42 5.06 min but was still second. One of the rear tyres opened completely and the car slides in some corners. So for the last round I switched additive from CS-high grip to the new MR33. The car rolls even more but had the same grip. I drove my fastest time in 42 5.03 min and also my fastest lap in 6.877 sec.
For the finals I changed nothing. Starting in the TQ spot I also stayed in front over 5 min. the car worked perfect over 5 min. In the second heat I made a small mistake in the second corner and everybody could pass. over the heat I fighted back to the 4 th place but also small mistakes on that track costed a lot. The trach had more grip then in the first round so I decided for the last heat to put some glue on the sidewalls of the tyres. Like in the first heat I managed to stay in front with a 6 sec leads. So I won the first round of Luxemburgish nationals in the modified class.
