Last weekend the fifth round of the Swiss 1/8 championship took place at the Minidrom Sitterdorf. The weather was not the best so only one dry round of qualifying could be run. Simon Kurzbuch (Shepherd) was the fastest and securred himself the TQ in front of ARC’s Silvio Hächler. With Roland Stalder in 8th position there was another Shepherd Velox V8 in the top ten. On Sunday the weather improved so was it possible to race all the finals under dry conditions. The main final was dominated once again by Simon who crossed the finishing line in first position three laps in front of Mattia Pesenti with Remy Hasler completing the podium another two laps down. Shepherd veteran Jürg Nydegger made it to the sixth spot.
With four wins out of five races Simon Kurzbuch already securred himself the 2016 overall Swiss Championship title.
