The fourth round of the Finland 1/8 track national series took place at the nice Kuovola track. Good weather conditions allowed a very nice and fair racing weekend. After the qualification it was Teemu Saarinen who started from the top spot into the main final followed by Henri Frederiksson (Shepherd), Tomi Mairue and Tony Raikas (Shepherd). In the first minutes of the main final Teemu Saarinen pulled away from the field until he hit a slower car. After this incident there was a great battle for the lead between Tomi and Henri. At the end Tomi won the race with Henri Fredriksson in second and Tony Raikas completing the podium. For Henri the second place was good enough to secure himself the 2016 overall Champion title.
After the third season with Shepherd Henri had the following to say:
“The Velox V8 has been very good and easy to drive all the season as we gained a lot of experience since the beginning with Shepherd. I want to thank Patrick Schäfer and his crew at Shepherd Micro Racing and Jukka Vatanen at Racing Hobby Finland for the continuous support. Also I want to thank Teemu Saarinen at Future-RC Finland for the excellent Max Power engines and engine service.”
