Rebels Race Rd.1 report from Prague



The 2016 race season kicked off immediately following the New Year’s celebrations in Prague with the Rebels Race. The luxury sports hall and big ETS carpet welcomed 84 cars in 7 classes. A well organized and friendly race offered 4 qualifications, 3 finals, and during opening ceremony every driver received glass of champagne!


In the Open class it was Vita Hola who won 3 rounds of qualifying and took overall TQ. In the finals it was close racing with former winner of the series Michal Blahovsky who was challenging Vita, but the XRAY of Vita would cross the line first. The top 3 was completed by Kaja Dolezal.

In the Stock class, Ales Pelikan dominated the whole day and won the race in front of Vita Hola who was very fast in this class as well. XRAY’s Michal Kneys completed podium. Very fast was also Rado Durana and Standa Nemecek, who recently restarted their racing after several months away.

STOCK junior

In super-fast 1/12 class it was Marcel Dostal who took the win with his new X12’16 in front of Michal Kneys and German visitor Bernhard Hummel. In the GT class Pavel Holub dominated the finals. Formula cars were competing in two sub-classes – with foam and rubber tires. The Foam class was won by Ivo Trojan, and the Rubber by Dalibor Valder.

For youth drivers and beginners there was also a Hobby class with 21.5T zero boost or 20T brushed cars. This time it was very close racing between Victor Trnka, Ales Cejchan and qualification winner Dominik Vlasek. Victor was the fastest in the finals in front of Ales and Dominik. Standa Knespl secured his 4th place from Martin Cerny.

New Year racing was awarded with special prices and as usual every Rebels Race is finalized by a small tombola of RC prizes. Next Rebels Race in Prague will be on 30-January.
