In shocking news today, Carson Wernimont has announced his departure from 1/8 R/C racing.
“It was a tough decision for me to make but as of today, I am officially done racing 1/8 scale. I’ve come to a Y in the the road of life and have huge opportunities, many involving full size racing and I have decided to take that path as I’m sure many would do the same. This will give me the extra time I need to be able to pursue my dreams as my goals in life have now changed.”
“It’s awesome to look back over that past few years and come from a kid playing around at the local track, to standing on the podium at the World Championships. I can’t thank my Dad enough for the amount of time and money sacrificed to get me where I am today, and all my amazing sponsors for always having my back! Thank you everyone for the great memories, time to start a new chapter!”
While Carson seems to be very clear that he is retiring from 1/8 scale, sources tell us he will remain with Yokomo for a 1/10 racing program (perhaps in the off-season of his full size racing ventures). From everyone at NeoBuggy and RCNews, we certainly wish Carson the very best on his new ventures, and hope to one day soon see him return to the driver’s stand.
