Serpent wins German Regionals

The second round of the German Regional Championship – North Division took place in Hildesheim, Germany. After a rainy practice on Saturday the weather forecast for Sunday guaranteed a dry finals day. Starting from P2 in the grid behind international ace Lars Hoppe, Merlin Depta kept up the pace with leader Lars. With Andreas Giesa in third position Lars and Merlin started to lap the rest of the field within the first two pit stops. With a small gap about only two seconds between the leading duo Lars and Merlin were in the same lap until Lars went slightly through the grass. Only a couple of minutes left on the clock it was Serpent’s Lennart Skornia who was able to overtake 3rd place Giesa. Besides winning the main final, Merlin Depta also set a new official track record of 13.011 seconds at the lovely track of AMC-Hildesheim.
