Round 1 of the 1/8 Offroad Dutch Nationals was held this past weekend on the high speed track of Mach One in Helmond. Chilly weather and strong wind made for less than ideal conditions on the drivers stand to start off the weekend, however, sunny skies and warmer weather made for great racing come race day. Agama’s Bart Mullink swept qualifying by taking all three rounds for the overall TQ. Jarno Pijpers would start first after the semi-finals with Jordy Velder second on the grid for the final, and Jorg Van Leuken starting third.
As the final got underway a few mistakes by the XRAY of Pijpers allowed Jorg and Jordy to move into the top spots. TQ, Bart Mullink, started in the back of the pack, but quickly worked his way up to race with the leaders. A mistake by Jordy in the lead would allow Bart to take over the number one spot before pit stop #1, and never look back. Mullink crossed the line the Round 1 winner with Jordy Velder second, and Jorg Van Leuken third.
