Serpent has announced that Gerd Strenge (Team Durango founder and designer) has joined for a long-term cooperation that combines race and event support, mechanic for Jorn Neumann, and assisting in product development. This comes as no surprise, as Gerd played in instrumental role in Jorn’s early success, and it only makes sense that he follow Jorn’s move to Serpent to continue the successful relationship.
“The Serpent offroad car line-up is increasing steadily, which requires a more intensive support campaign as before, to meet drivers requests and provide the support needed. Gerd is well known from his Durango offroad projects which he started in 1999 and as brand sold some years ago. This coop ended in 2014. Gerd will be mechanic/race engineer at all major events for Neumann and of course supporter of all Serpent drivers at the races and events he will be attending for Serpent.”
On the development side, Serpent will be expanding its product line even further in the coming years in both racing and RTR markets. Gerd will be assisting Serpent’s development team, headed by Michael Salven on the onroad side and Billy Easton on the offroad side, with proto-typing, testing, and sharing idea’s for further development of cars, general equipment, spares, and options.
The Dirt Nitro Challenge this week will be the first major event for Gerd under Serpent flag, with many more events to follow.
