This past weekend was held the classic annual ‘Christmas Race’, near Paris, France. Run over 3 days with over 200 entries, the French indoor carpet off-road race is becoming more and more popular among drivers all over Europe with racers coming all the way from the UK, Czech Republic, Belgium and Austria.
The 2wd class was dominated by Hot-Bodies’ new recruit Reno Savoya. With HB currently not offering a 2wd in their range, the 1/8th scale specialist chose to run the B52 shaft driven conversion kit for B5M from REDworkshop. TQing 3 of the 4 rounds of qualifying in front of carpet specialists and EOS winner Martin Bayer and Tom Cockrill, the HB driver started from Pole and gave no chance to his competitors, winning A1 and A2 and seating out of A3 to clinch his very first ever win in 2wd class, in front of XRAY’s Lorenzo Crolla and Martin Bayer.
In 4wd, XRAY’s Martin Bayer TQed all 4 rounds of Qualifying. Bayer continued with his winning form by containing a hard charging teammate Wollanka to win A1. In A2, Bayer unfortunately DNFed due to electronic issues which meant the overall win was all down to A3. At the start of the tone Bayer pull away and never looked back to win A3 and clinch the overall win in front of Martin Wollanka and Reno Savoya.
