During the Easter long weekend Moorebank Raceway hosted the 2014 New South Wales State IC Titles (Sydney Australia) and for the first time ever 1/8 GT was offered as a demonstration class and is anticipated to be an approved class in the near future.
Qualifying commenced on Friday with two qualifiers completed. Rick Seymosberger made an early statement which he improved upon during the second qualifier. Saturday saw another four qualifiers completed and resulted in Chris Stanley taking TQ by a significant 6 seconds over his nearest competitor.
During the 30 minute final, held on Sunday, Chris Stanley took an early lead but was quickly defending his position from Rick Seymosbergen for a number of laps and at one stage Stanley slipped back to second place. However this was short lived as Chris set the lap record with a 19.324 and was assisted by his lighting fast controlled pit stops from Shaun Kaltenbacher. At the 30 minute mark the buzzer sounded which saw Chris Stanley taking the win by an impressive 3 laps over second placed Rick Seymosbergen.
