After our most recent RC News article on the possibility of Ryan Maifield & LRP going their separate ways following last year’s distribution split between Team Associated and LRP we kindly received word from LRP America’s own Shawn Ireland who sort of confirmed a ‘half split’ if you will…

With the distribution separation of LRP from Team Associated I can say that Ryan Maifield will no longer be under contract to run LRP electronics for 2014.

However, I remain under the impression, from our talks with Team Associated, that Ryan trusts and will continue to run LRP engines. We at LRP hope this is the case as we find Ryan to not only be a great driver, but a great ambassador for the RC hobby and LRP products.” – Shawn Ireland, LRP America

Maifield kicked off 2014 with a dominating win at CRCRC a few weeks ago, this weekend he goes into the Reedy Race at OCRC as one of a handful of favourites, where might he be heading, leave a comment with your thoughts!

I was running Tekin before it was Tekin (Delta Electronic Speed Controls) when I first met the current owner of Tekin. That was almost 30 years ago. I now run Orion. For a reason.
