Round four of this seasons Schumacher BTCC series saw a near full entry of drivers head for Aldershot track in Hampshire, most of the entry hoping to get some track time prior to this weekend’s BRCA national. Olly Jefferies qualified fourth with his TC6. Although Olly seemed to lack a little pace, a few consistent runs in qualifying saw him qualify close enough to the front to retain a chance for victory. In the modified class Zak Smith felt his car was performing reasonably consistent but a little disappointed that his lap times didn’t reflect this. Zak would qualify in the B final. In the 13.5 class Ben Putt was having another strong weekend and was confident of a good result in the finals.
In the modified A final Olly was up to third within a couple laps and was able to keep a watching brief on Chris Grainger and Elliott Harper ahead. Chris made a mistake around the half way mark and Olly was there to pounce to take second place. Chris mounted a recovery drive in the dying seconds of the race but Olly held on to take second behind Team Durango’s Elliott Harper.
