Euros: Batlle edges Ronnefalk in Q2

World Champion Robert Batlle managed to hold off the competition in his heat and thereby took TQ in the 2nd round by 4/10ths from Q1 top qualifier David Ronnefalk, Batlle ran a super consistent race pretty much hugging the mid 40 sec laptime mark, only once did his Mugen stray into the 41 sec range on lap 2 with a 41.7 before he snapped it back a lap later going a second quicker. Ronnefalk will be slightly miffed having missed out on the celebrity of a second consecutive TQ, and by such a margin, the Kyosho driver looking perhaps less consistent than Batlle who looks the more comfortable running that pace, Ronnefalk had one crash and lost about two seconds – enough to bump him from P1.

Elsewhere, yesterdays top seed of practice Jerome Aigoin improved from P5 toP4, whilst Reno Savoya climbed from 6th to 3rd, perhaps spurred on by listening to a pre race tune he suggested for one of our videos… Highest climber goes to Oscar Baldo, 68th in Q1, he quite spectacularly put the likes of Martin Bayer and Joseph Quagraine in the shade in his heat, despite the Finnish fingers supporting Joe from the sidelines.
