Neo Buggy continues their report from the 2012 Euros… Round 3 and our 3rd different Top Qualifier, this time practice pace setter David Ronnefalk, confirming that AKA is the tyre to be on track with. With less than an hour to re-prep they’re cars for the 3rd time on track, heat 1 saw the British Battle: Bloomfield vs Boots, Q2 went to Boots but Darren Bloomfield is quickly earning the title of Mr Consistent as his mechanic Adam Drake and expert video advisor Kevin Gahan propel him towards a potential TQ tomorrow.
The track in Q3 looked slightly slower but definitely trickier as we saw several drivers caught out by a few small sections of the track, most notably Q2’s 2nd placed Jorn Neumann on the long table top, spinning out on 3 consecutive laps. David made up for his previous bobbles in earlier rounds as he attacked the track and drove to TQ half a second infront of Bloomfield; his pitmen urging him on to push during the closing minute, a hairy wheelie moment on the concrete section did little to slow him down however.
Having said that though, Bloomfield on track looks fast without having to push 110% and with the supporting entourage he is the picture of calm, its looking good for the Brits with a 1,3 going into quali tomorrow, team manager Alan Dell will be proud of his boys.
