AMain Hobbies reports – “Tyler Vik was one of those kids at the racetrack that had to have a radio in his hand. Impressively fast (and undeniably charismatic), those who saw him at big races across the country would’ve been remiss not to think that he’d one day be a racer to watch.
That was ten years ago. And everyone who thought he’d make it was correct. An up-and-comer for Mugen Seiki and Kyosho for much of his career, a switch to Hot Bodies for 2011 (while sticking with A Main Hobbies and ProTek R/C, for whom he has driven since 2010) seemed to spark an extra bit of confidence for the college junior.
Fresh off of his best qualifying performance ever at The Dirt Nitro Challenge, where he earned the final guaranteed starting position in Saturday night’s Pro Truck final, he promptly returned to the track the following morning and confidently nailed down a TQ run in the Pro Electric Buggy class over some of the fastest drivers in the world. I lured him into the A Main Hobbies motor coach after his second nitro buggy qualifier (which may or may not have included a bribe of apple sauce, his favorite) for a quick interview.
