NeoBuggy reports – “Ryan Maifield drove a great race to upset the odds and take the victory on a track many didn’t fancy him to do so well on. The first cracks in Tebo’s seemingly impenetrable armour began to show in the 2nd semi as the two Ryans kept Tebo at bay and the trio were on a furious pace which saw them line up first for the final. Despite Tebo winning that semi both Cavalieri and Maifields’ tyres looked in much better condition after the semi, perhaps part of the reason why Tebo went for Cityblock in the final whilst other AKA runners stuck with GridIron.
Anyway, the final saw the same three drivers challenging for the win, initially Cavalieri chasing Tebo hard, then taking the lead only for Tebo to come back followed by Maifield. It seemed as if Tebo had a comfortable lead halfway through but a couple of hero laps from Maifield saw him pegged right back. After a few sweaty moments/crashes on track Maifield got through, opened up a 5sec gap which gave him some breathing space going into the last pitstop where he came out just infront of Tebo who still had to pit. Maifield extended his lead to Tebo who had now settled for 2nd, not so for Cavalieri and Robbers who were fighting tooth and nail! The pair swapped positions several times and in the end over the small jump by the loop Robbers edged it onto the podium.”
