Markus Winkelhock races at LRP TCM ’11


LRP reports – “The World’s best R/C stars come to Eppelheim. After his debut in 2009, DTM driver Markus Winkelhock will be there again. This year, he will start in the LRP-HPI Classic Challenge. His name is well known in the world of motorsports. In Germany the name Winkelhock is a synonym for successful automobile racing. Markus Winkelhock is part of one of the biggest german racer dynasties. His father Manfred was very successful in Formula 1 and his uncle Joachim did win several touring car championships worldwide and was also a multiple winner of the legendary 24 hours of LeMans. Markus started his motor sports career quite late, but he can already look back upon an extremely successful vita in racing. He began with a vice champion title in the Formula König in 1998. After two years of Formula Renault and numerous Formula 3 successes, he signed his first DTM contract at AMG-Mercedes in 2004. In 2006 he became test driver in the Spyker F1 Team (today Force India) and got in touch with the champions league of motorsports – the Formula 1. Markus’ racing debut was in 2007 at the Nürburgring race track. There he had a sensational performance: with the inferior Spyker F1 he lead for some laps thanks to a clever tyre tactics in his first Formula 1 race!”
