Mi4 & Grainger Win BRCA Rd2

“The second round of the BRCA National series saw the Schumacher Team head to the beautiful Halifax facility in the north of England. This was the first national that all the team and customers were able to use the new production Mi4 for the first time and it proved to be an excellent showing!! Chris Grainger dominated early qualifying with his GM powered Mi4 choosing his new tires at the correct moments to get a perfect 3 TQ’s from the 5 qualifying rounds over the weekend. West London winner Andy Moore 2nd and Elliot Harper in 3rd lined up behind him. The rest of the Modified team putting in an excellent showing with Chris Ashton lining up 6th, Matt White 9th and Colin Price 10th all running with GM power with the two Chris’s and Matt choosing the 5 cell option and Colin Price lipo 6.5t. Pro Stock qualifying was almost as successful for the team with 5 new Mi4’s lining up in the A final with Lee Price 2nd, Byron Humphries 3rd, Dewi Jones 4th, Sam Clifton 8th and Mark Musgrove 9th. Jon Bowden TQ’ed and won the finals with Lee pushing very hard to secure and excellent 2nd place in what was an excellent weekend for the price family! Mark Musgrove came through the pack to finish a credible 4th overall.

With the weather set fair Chris was looking to put his nightmare finals from the previous national at West London behind him. After taking a flag to flag victory in the first leg the second didn’t quite go to plan. Chris got dirt on his tyres before the delayed start, allowing Andy more to pip him on the first lap and take the victory on his fresh tyres compared to Chris’s used ones. With the tyres now all being equal Chris dominated the third leg taking a comfortable victory from Elliot and Chris Ashton’s Mi4, now cured of duration issues that beset him in the first two legs, giving him 5th overall. So all in all an excellent display from the Schumacher Team in both classes, Chris’s set up sheet will be posted shortly in Technical Information on the Schumacher website.” [Source – racing-cars.com]
