LRP Wins Dragon Winter Indoor Race 2009


LRP reports – “From the 10th to the 11th of January, the first Dragon Winter Indoor Race was run in the Elipa indoor track hosted by Craem Club. Elipa track is a though challenge for driver and car as it offers several different racing surfaces in different sections of the track: Astroturf, carpet and dirt. This track is amazing to every driver and spectators watching, having very close corners and exciting jumps, table jumps, doubles and triples, all of them in different types of surfaces. The Dragon Winter indoor race was run only with 2wd buggies and a total of 60 drivers took part in the event. All the fastest Spanish drivers participated, giving it their maximum to win. After five rounds of qualification, local driver Alberto Cano was TQ after dominating 4 out of 5 rounds. Behind Cano and getting the fastest qualification time and the fastest lap of the race was LRP team driver Alberto García who would start the A-mains in 2nd place. In third place, and steadily improving his lap times in the last three qualification rounds was former European champion, Daniel Vega.
